Everybody loves spring. Twilight now lingers beyond 6pm. We are contemplating trading our heavy woollen jackets for lighter garb. The first signs of new shoots have appeared on sparse parkland trees.
And the property market is preparing for some of its biggest weekends of the year.
Spring is historically the busiest month for residential real estate sales because many vendors prefer to hold off going to market until the bleaker winter months are over. Spring is an ideal time to market a property for several reasons.
More hours of daylight make it easier to host inspections before or after business hours. It also helps to bring bigger crowds to open houses and auctions simply because more people are returning to the great outdoors. I often hear stories of buyers spotting properties for sale while out enjoying sunny afternoon walks or drives.
Brighter days definitely help vendors capture highly attractive promotional images for use in online and print marketing and advertising.
And, finally, owner occupants who list in early spring hoping to buy their next home this year may still have time to find their next home before Christmas (which, by the way, is only 14 weeks away!)
